Tired

Im tired (in no particular order)

1) of the whispers that goes around in the office. A very unprofessional attitude. I dont even know whether I should be paranoid or less aware of my surroundings. But I am just so tired of people whispering in the office. And it is always done by the usual suspects.

2) of the backstabbing at work and pointing of fingers -(again only at the back)

3) of the whinging and moaning how they've got so much to do but if they spent all their time b*tching it should NOT be a wonder to them why they can't get any bl**dy work done

4) of the question "When are you going to have kids'. Please mind your own business! Just because you (yes you know who you are) have one or some doesn't mean we are less human for not living the life that you are living. We will have one when we are ready. Not a good enough answer? Well tough. I have chosen to spend my life with my spouse not you!

5) of people assuming we make tonnes of money just because we work abroad and keep pestering for gifts and money.

6) of not having my family near me

7) of living abroad

8) of friends whom are NOT really my friends but will re appear when they feel they need a favour

9) of doing the housework and my spouse does not even offer any help (yup guess I made 'my own bed' with this situation)

10) of feeling tired.

Feel the karma

Some of you may have read my previous posts about how I was having a hard time at work. There is a small close knit group (of three) of bullies in the department that is always targeting me and a couple of other women in the department.

Recently two of them (the group) was off sick. They both return to work today. There was a lot of whispering going on between the 'group' . Anyway it turns out that one of them (lady A) has applied for a team leader post and today was the day that she would find out whether she was successful or not. One of the ladies exclaimed - when I reminded her that the Support Manager was walking around on our floor yesterday - 'Oh no wonder he was down here he was probably looking for you to tell you the good news' she told the lady A.

Anyway speak of the devil, the Support Manager was on our floor again and surely enough he came down to see lady A. They both went away to a small meeting room . We all went about our work until another lady commented that the lady A has been gone for quite some time now. They all assumed that it will be good news, I on the other hand had thought otherwise. As usually if it was good news it will be a quick message to convey and if it is bad news it will take longer. As the recipient need to know as well why s/he didn't make it and ways to do better the next time.

After about another half an hour, lady A came out of the meeting room and the Support Manager went back to his office (which is on the floor above us). Lady A called my team leader for a quick chat in the small meeting room. By then everyone was curious on what was the outcome - whether she got it or not. She and TL was in the meeting room for a good half hour.

Finally when they both came out, we all knew what had happened - she didn't get the job.

By lunch time another shocking news, she will be transferred out of the department and we are getting another deputy team leader. (Decision was made by Support Manager).

Understandably she cried her eyes out, I think two big news like these is a bit overwhelming. Honestly both of the news weren't great (for her).

I am not heartless , I do understand that she might be feeling utterly disappointed as she has been a deputy team leader for nearly five years now and I do empathise that her move to the other department which may seemed like taking a step backwards as she is going to a department that is more laid back and only deals with closed book policies. On the other hand, I feel the karma working.

Do NOT treat others meanly as it will bite you back - in one way or another.

Say No to Alcohol

I've received a forwarded email today and in it , was a really cute and funny pic. Thought that should share it with all of you. Hope it made you smile :)

p/s I m sure we all know that the baby isn't an alcoholic.

Personality traits of a Virgo

Taken from http://www.exploreastrology.co.uk

Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac and is symbolised by the virgin. The symbol of the virgin may be used for Virgos in part because it shows their cool and disciplined ways. Virgos are rational, practical, intelligent people who are able to think clearly thanks to the ruler of their Earth sign, Mercury. If you ever decide to question a Virgo, make sure you know your stuff because it will be hard to convince them they are wrong. A Virgo's thought is so precise that they are not very tolerant of other people's procrastination or lack of common sense. They simply cannot understand why other people cannot function at the same level as they do. Virgos also pride themselves on their excellent memories.

Because Virgos have such clear thought, they may be critical of others. They are perfectionists who despise carelessness and incoherence in others. However, as critical as they are of others, they usually turn that criticism inwards on themselves. They dislike being criticised by others because they already know their own faults.

Most Virgos have an intensity that makes them both industrious and efficient. Sticklers for detail, they are very organised. They are also hard workers as they are driven to do, not daydream. They are weary of making decisions until they know all the facts. Virgos are shy by nature and function better in one-on-one situations rather than in large social gatherings.

Calm Intensity
Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo. Both signs have a lot of restless nervousness, but while it manifests into nervous energy for Geminis, you will rarely be able to see it in Virgos. To the world, Virgos appear calm and collected, but underneath that, they have a great intensity that demands they bring order to their worlds. Beneath the calm exterior is a frantic interior that needs to rearrange until everything is perfect.

Perfectionists
This leads to one of Virgos most important personality traits - that is that of perfection. Whether it is balancing a checkbook to the penny or measuring something five times until they are sure it is precise, Virgos are perfectionists. This works well with their analytical thinking and practicality.

Weaknesses
Virgos have the tendency to be as overly critical of others as they are of themselves. They can be seen as petty and are often skeptical of the ideas of others. They are worriers, which may lead them to be hypochondriacs. Their constant need for perfection can wear on others.

Parts of the Body Ruled by Virgo
The nervous system and intestines - Virgos may find they suffer from stress and nervous tension, which in turn can cause ulcers

Etsy shops

While making my regular drops through Entrecard , I stumbled upon loads of marvellous Etsy shops. Gosh the choices are just over whelming. There are indeed some unique and wonderful stuff made available at Etsy by very talented sellers.

Ive tried dabbling in crafts myself about a year ago, but had to stop due to lack of time. Between working full time , a full time 'housewife' (hehe) and part time studying whatever time I have left I will spend it on the internet , going out , catching up with telly and sleep. Oh yeah and PSP-ing LOL!

I applaud those who are so creative and have pursued their hobbies, turning it into a profit making business.

I am a registered Etsy buyer but I have not bought anything since registering three months ago. I've placed a lot of sellers as my favourites but I simply can't choose.
I can't decide whether to get a pair of earrings or bracelet or a ring.. there are simply too many to chose from.

Be weary

of this number 0290822637. Giving them a benefit of the doubt, I am sure they are a legit business organisation. But be weary as not to give your details away to them and they will try to sway your contract away from your current mobile provider to join the mobile provider that they are representing.

I told them off right away for calling me on numerous occasions. I was always at work therefore am unable to pick up the call. But today they rang again and I was pretty annoyed. You see I will always refrain from answering any calls that comes from a number that I don't recognise. The lady on the other line, first of all didn't introduced where she was calling from or how she got my mobile number. Then without answering my question on who they are . She went on to say that I am a pay-as-you-go mobile user when I know for a fact that I am a monthly mobile subscriber.

Once again, I asked her where she is calling from and she answered. So I blasted off and told her that I only deal with ******** for all my mobile transactions and not with anybody else and ended the conversation!

The pounding

As I sat for the exam, my palms were sweating and shaking with nerves. As I pressed the button on the mouse I felt every vein in my forehead was about to burst. I read through every question as carefully as I can. It has been known that the questions tend to be written in a way to be misleading. If it wasn't read carefully that will definitely mean a wrong answer will be given. Important words like 'defined', 'pre-A day' , 'post A-day', 'after crystallisation', 'before death' , 'after death', 'higher tax payer', etc.

30 minutes had passed and I had answered all 50 questions. I looked at the clock nervously after 10 more minutes had passed. At which point I was reviewing all my answers and reading through the questions again. Ive jotted down on the notepad given by the proctor, the number of questions that I wasn't 100% sure of.

15 minutes left on the clock. Ive put down 14 questions down that I wasn't confident with the answers. I can only make 15 mistakes to pass. Sigh, I thought to myself the worse case scenario is I get all those 14 questions wrong with one more error that I am not able to detect. Aww gawd 8 more minutes left on the clock.

It is an online exam, where as soon as I click on the submit button the result will pop out on the screen instantaneously.

5 minutes left, at this point of time my heart was pounding really fast and it felt like it was going to jump out of my chest that very moment. My hands were shaking like crazy and was cold as ice.

No this is not the first paper that I sat for, far from it but this was the most important one for me to move forward.

2 minutes left, oh heck I did the best I can the worse that can happen is I don't get a pass and had to go for another resit. It is not the end of the world, I tried to calm myself down. Okay here goes. Click...Shut my eyes tight. Pleaseee.. I screamed inside my heart.

1 second gone. I opened up my eyes and YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSs what a relief! Ive passed!!! Plus I only made 8 mistakes! Not 14! I know that I shouldn't be happy with 8 mistakes but that is counted as a distinction for this exam!

(Where 10 or less mistakes, is counted as not only a pass but a distinction. )Therefore that was enough for me. I couldn't control my joy and hugged the proctor, whom is also a member staff of the training and development team, so wasn't a complete stranger! Jumped for joy as I skipped my way out of the exam room and made my way to the training department for my exam results printout. Hurrah! It was good to hold it in my hands!

I can't wait to get my certificate next week!

Phew!

Ive sat for one of my exams today and I am glad to say that Ive passed it with distinctionsIt is an online exam where we get the results instantaneously!! Hurrah! YEAH! YEAH! Time for celebrations.

Students beware

I was watching Watchdog on BBC1, and one of the stories that was highlighted is about a rental organisation in Leeds. Students please beware and stay away from them!. Its website looks grand and legit but that is far from the truth.

I had the same problem when I was renting at a student. Landlord was easy to find when he needs the money but disappear when I (we) wanted the deposit back.

Read the full story about this con artist at Watchdog's website.

Assertive!

I need to be MORE ASSERTIVE apparently!

So here comes the extrovert version of me and out it goes the introvert side of me.

Be afraid people be very afraid!
