Choo shoes anyone?

When R.Adlington won gold medals at the recent Olympics, she also bagged herself with a couple of Jimmy Choo shoes.

J.Choo was born in Pulau Pinang , Malaysia. His real name is actually Jimmy Chow but thanks to some mix up at the registrar office and the name Choo stucked . He is a prominent figure in the fashion industry and a very famous shoe designer based in London, England. Among his famous customers are Natalie Imbruglia, Katie Holmes, Jennifer Lopez, Charlize Theron , the late Diana and his collection was also worn by actresses in The Sopranos, Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada.

He started designing and making shoes when he was only 11 years old. He graduated from Cordwainers' Technical College in London. He had a humble beginning , he worked part time at restaurants and as a cleaner at a shoe factory to help with his college fund. Back in Malaysia he is known as Dato' Jimmy Choo (the title Dato's was bestowed to him by the King of Pahang and Governor of Penang). Back in the UK he conffered an OBE by Queen Elizabeth II. He is now British citizen and resides in London. He also has set up a shoemaking institute in Malaysia. His designing skills are not limited to shoes, but also handbags and sunglasses. I don't think I could ever afford a pair of Choo's shoes!

All sore with a mug full of warm Lemsip

I am stucked at home again during this weekend. All plans to have a wander into town diminished when I woke up this morning with a slight of sore throat and a hint of cold plus a mild fever. Last week during the bank holidays, we didn't go anywhere except to the garden centre which was quite alright as we spent most of our time doing gardening.

I was hoping to do some clothes shopping this week but alas it will not materialise. Never mind, I guess it must be a sign from a higher being that I should really be saving and not spending. I also thought that I could go to London today to meet up with friends, but this will not happen as well. It is either I risk a hectic weekend with no rest or a hectic week ahead feeling crappy at work.

Well I guess this is all for now folks... until next time.

Do you read on?

I sometimes wonder how many people stop and read when they do their DROP. I stumbled upon a blog and was shocked to read that this person do not even bother about reading anything on the website when doing his/her drops. I know it is best practice to placed the Entrecard widget at the top of the page but what a waste for someone to NOT stop and appreciate what other people's thoughts, love, desires, ideas etc are. I wonder if this person thinks that his/her blog is more worthy that others that s/he doesn't give a **** about other bloggers' website. From what I gather , collecting credits is so important to this person that s/he that nothing else matters. Well I guess each to its own. To whoever is reading this post of mine, thank you for reading my mediocre entry (ies). :)

Goodbye Olympics 2008

Today was the closing ceremony of the Olympics '08 games. As expected the host country displayed a spectacular ceremony (view my previous post on the Opening ceremony). Well done to everybody who has contributed, volunteered, participated , watched , listened etc to the Olympics '08! Now they are talking about a smaller scale ceremony for the 2012. Now I do not want to sound sceptical but I think that is a lot cheap advertising. Okay maybe China has over done it a bit, but isn't that the point of being a great host country ? That a host country is able to use it's resources to show the world what they are capable of? It wasn't tacky , well to me personally it was HUGE with fireworks left right centre of the the 'birdnest'. It was mesmerising and the element of culture in the ceremony was just brilliant.

Before, I thought the drums-beating-countdown was amazing during the opening ceremony, however the fireworks countdown for the closing ceremony just took my breath away and left me gobsmacked!

Well we would just have to wait and see how small scale the next Olympics would be. BTW I thought B. Johnson was really funny (in a nice way) when he stood by the President of IOC and the Mayor of Beijing. His suit looked like it wasn't altered properly and he was the only one that didn't button up. And the poor guy had so much trouble getting the Olympic flag untangled :) but so did the Mayor of Beijing Guo Jinlong.

My Own Domain

Man! I only planned to change my layout but now I own my very own domain as well. Thank you to Renee for the recommendation. I have always contemplated on getting one but just never had the guts to do it. Since it only cost about 5 pounds (which I didn't know DUH!) I thought why not.

It will take at least 3 days for complete transition so to everyone please bear with me while this takes place.

Im laughing at myself now, as I thought I would not do it i.e re-registering for everything, but because of the domain name I have done it. Now everything is more or less in pending mode or approved. :)

Yay! For the mean time click here for my new domain.

New look

YAY! I have done it! A three-column blogger template. I'm so pleased and I'm still with blogspot. It only took me 4 hours. I will do more adjustments later but for now I'm happy with the way it looks. Let me know what you think of my new template.
